Neve Shalom/Wahat al-Salam / Israel
"Shalom - Salam" has been heard in the village of Neve Shalom/Wahat al-Salam for almost 40 years now. In the midst of a world filled with spiralling violence and terror, Jews, Palestinians, Muslims and Christians live together in this village. The children are educated bilingually and multiculturally. Since it was established, Neve Shalom/Wahat al-Salam has been presented with numerous international awards and nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize five times. The School for Peace makes a considerable contribution to the peace process between Palestine and Israel; more than 25,000 Jews and Arabs have already taken part in its activities. This peace work has far-reaching effects because its achievements are multiplied by teachers, journalists, lawyers, therapists and many others.
